Program Rules & Eligibility

Eligibility:

No purchase necessary. This award program is open to student-athletes playing on varsity football teams at 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A public high schools and private high schools in the state of Texas. Home schooled students are not eligible.

Submission Guidelines:

Consumers, coaches and school administrators can nominate student-athletes for this award by
completing the online nomination form at www.PlayeroftheWeek.com. Nominations will be due by 11:00 a.m. Central Time the Monday following each week's game. In nominating student-athletes, entrants will be required to describe why that player should receive the award and how they embody the program criteria. All information is subject to verification. Submission of false information will result in disqualification. Ford Motor Company and The Built Ford Tough Texas Football Media Advisory Board are not responsible for late, lost or misdirected nominations.

Limit:

Applications submitted become the property of Ford Motor Company and Built Ford Tough Texas Football Media Advisory Board. Ford Motor Company and their respective affiliates and authorized representatives may, without limitation, in whole and/or in part, and irrevocably, use the likeness, biographical information, data, photographs, and any and all information, previously and/or hereafter submitted in conjunction with this program, in any and all media now known or hereafter developed, for editorial, illustration, promotion, advertising, marketing, trade and other similar purposes without further notice or any compensation. By nominating a player, you hereby release, hold harmless, discharge and absolve Ford, the Built Ford Tough Texas Football Media Advisory Board and their respective successors, assigns, agents, officers and employees, from any and all actions, suits, claims and demands of any kind whatsoever,
which your school its heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, had, now have or hereafter may have, by reason of any matter connected in any way with this program, including, but not limited to, the operation of this program, the awarding of prizes, any loss of damage to any prize, and any action, claim or suit for personal injury or loss or damage to property in connection with the receipt and use of the prize. You have obtained any necessary permission(s) with respect to the submission and any authorization(s) required in conjunction with the use of any photographs and/or information related to a minor.

Judging:

The selection process is administered by Bruce Weber and the Built Ford Tough Media Advisory
Board, comprised of top prep sports writers to determine the weekly winners. All weekly winners are eligible for The Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Year award. There will be six weekly winners, one each from class 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A and private schools, during the regular season, as well as six (one from each of the foregoing categories) at the end of the season. Nominations can come from coaches, administrators, fans and the advisory board. Selections will be judged on three criteria:Individual performance on the field, including significant statistics from the week's game; Contribution to the team's success through their individual leadership abilities; Performance off the field of play, including academic success and good community citizenship. All matters relating to this award program shall be subject to the Built Ford Tough Texas Football Media Advisory Board and Ford's decision, which shall be final and binding.

Prize:

There will be six weekly winners, one each for Class 2A, Class 3A, Class 4A, Class 5A, Class 6A and Private school football players. There will be 6 overall winners (one from each of the categories) selected at the end of the football season. Each weekly winner receives a plaque or trophy recognizing their achievements. Senior classmen award winners and the overall season winners will be recognized at a statewide ceremony within two months of the conclusion of the final state championship game. During this ceremony, the “Player of the Year” for each class will be announced. Winners, and the parent/legal guardian of winners who are minors, may be required to sign release forms.

To help identify some of the top performers each week, Ford has compiled The Built Ford Tough Media Advisory Board. This advisory board, comprised of top prep sports writers across the state of Texas, will nominate student-athletes each week for this award.
